One of the perks of being single is that you can travel and go places on a whim and even solo, whenever and wherever you want to! Because there’s joy in solo traveling. It is exciting, liberating and personally rewarding. No dependency, no other people to think of when doing the out-of-this-world stuff, no other personal issues to deal with other than your own. Only you, on your own itinerary, on your own options and on your own pacing.

BIKING IN BORACAY

Wake up early, rent a bike and explore the island of Boracay on your own. Bike to Puka Beach, Mount Luho or to the eastern side of the island to see its offbeat beaches, coves and attractions.

One that is becoming popular these days is The Keyhole. Known as Lapuz Lapuz to the locals, The Keyhole is a natural rock formation inside Boracay New Coast.

BACK ON THE ROAD

I got countless invitations in the past for test drives but I turned them all down. Simply because I am afraid to drive if I am not comfortable with the car or if it’s not mine.

But I missed traveling. I miss road trips, the beach, the scenery, the outdoors, the feeling. Honestly, the farthest I have been in the time of pandemic were Tagaytay and Rizal, usually by bike. 

Then an invitation for a drive came! A roadtrip from Manila to Boracay for Nissan Philippines and Department of Tourism Safe Trips campaign.

I said yes this time. And I am glad I did!

Back on the road! Finally!

STOBOSA HILLSIDE ARTWORK | LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET

A small hill in the busy nook that separates Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet used to be dull and uneventful. Until the Department of Tourism, Local Government of La Trinidad and Davies Paints transformed the place into the Philippines’ first and largest community artwork inspired by the Favelas of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and Gamcheon Cultural Village of Busan in South Korea.

The Province of Benguet (including Baguio City) has dropped the negative RT-PCR requirement for fully vaccinated travelers.
