I dislike taking pictures of all beige items even if they taste good. I got this pile of fish from Queenston Fish & Chips. Like this picture, it was bland and the details are missing. First of all, I got take out and it isn’t served in a container. Instead all of this was wrapped in deli paper. It’s tough to eat without a firm surface, especially in your car. Second, they had those crappy tartar sauce packets. Finally, cash only was a surprise that greeted me when I arrived. I can deal with cash only, you do whatever creative accounting you want BUT you gotta warn me before I arrive when I call my order in. I don’t like also having to run across the street to the convenience store to pay their convenience fee to get cash to pay with for whatever reason you’ve decided to be a payment technophobe. Needless to say, I won’t be back but I did learn that Peter’s Variety across the street has Tahiti Treat and other elusive sodas. So that’s my silver lining of this experience. -Todd

The @ottawastbia Street Sale was last Saturday and I made my way down there to check it out. Seemed many of you were there too, pretty busy! I was drawn in by the tractor beam of @heirloomtoronto’s Food Truck and their cheat day cookie the most. This half pound S’mores Cookie was stuffed with cheesecake, topped with fluff and torched. Chewy and delicious it was everything I wanted that day and it seemed to be on the radar of my foodie friends too, including @dough_nut_judge & @skinny.2.fit. Add Heirloom to your usual IG Feed so you can track them down in the future, after visiting a lot of food trucks this summer they were my favourite for sure. I hope next years street sale features a few more trucks and a few less clouds. -Todd
